Its specific objectives are the following: a) to analyze the particularities of work in banks installed in the capitals of the aforementioned states and the changes imposed by the context of the COVID-19 pandemic; b) understand the current determinations of banking work, in Brazil and in the Amazon, resulting from the changes imposed by the advance of the COVID-19 pandemic; c) Investigate the main repercussions of the new forms of work (teleworking and home office) on the life of bank workers in the aforementioned banks; d) to analyze the ways of managing the workforce and the working relationships/conditions that workers in state-owned banks in the states of Amazonas, Rondônia and Pará: Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF), Banco da Amazônia (BASA) and Bank of the State of Pará (Banpará) are submitted. This study is guided by the Marxist critical social theory and its historical and dialectical materialism method, establishes a comparative analysis from the investigation of the mediations that involve the reality of banking work in the current context, explaining the similarities and differences of work in banks public in relation to the period before the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 virus in Brazil in the first two decades of the 2000s. The main categories and/or analytical concepts adopted in the development of the research will be: banking work, productive restructuring and flexibility. It is possible to classify this research as being of a basic nature, and the proposed research levels are: descriptive and explanatory with a quali-quantitative approach. As a design, it is proposed: bibliographical, documentary and empirical research, having as locus, the 3 (three) public banks, namely: CEF; BASA and Banpará. Among the data collection instruments, the following stand out: observation, questionnaire and semi-structured interview. A non-random stratified sampling known as “snowball” will be used. Finally, as a technique for interpreting the data, content analysis (qualitative data) and inference on quantitative data will be used as a way of identifying in depth the mediations that involve banking work from the context of restructuring and flexibility engendered by the crisis. COVID-19 in Brazil and in the North/Amazon Region.
