Title of the Dissertation Project: “EVALUATION OF SOCIAL PUBLIC POLICIES: AN ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE STUDENT ASSISTANCE POLICY AT UFPA.”

Abstract: The present research project has as its object of study the Evaluation of Social Public Policies, seeking to carry out an analysis of the effectiveness of the Student Assistance Policy that has been implemented at the Federal University of Pará. The central question of the research refers to the following central question: Has the Student Assistance at UFPA been reaching its primary objective of assisting students who need it effectively? following questions: does the way in which the PNAES funds have been managed by SAEST influence the constant rates of stagnation in the number of aids offered in the public notices and in the formation of a reserve register? construction of public notices?, Is there an internal evaluation process of the UFPA student assistance policy? The study will have as a theoretical-methodological contribution the Marxist social theory, seeking to understand the origins of the object to be studied and its multiple determinations. The methodological procedures of the research will be divided into stages, which are: bibliographic research, documental research, field research, and data processing and analysis, based on a qualitative and quantitative approach, which aims to offer a broad explanation of the topic, covering quali-quantitative aspects. In this way, the research intends to contribute to the production of knowledge on the subject, and so that the academic community, institution and external parties can have the perspective of what has been built so far, the relevance of this policy in society, the transformations it has already provided, strengths and weaknesses, and from this information, that necessary modifications and improvements can be made.
