Abstract: This Research Project has as its object the Basic Social Protection/PSB of the Social Assistance policy in a riverside community in the municipality of Barcarena/Pa. It has as a general objective to analyze the performance of the Social Worker at this level of social protection with the riverside people of the Arapari River served by the Assistance Reference Center / CRAS Arapari and as specific objectives to carry out the mapping of the main actions of CRAS Arapari in service to riverside communities, identifying the relationship between the riverside environment and the achievement of the PSB's objectives and analyzing the theoretical-methodological paths of the social worker's work in the aforementioned CRAS. Based on the dialectical method, it will seek to capture the historical movement and its inherent contradictions in the interpretation of social reality, enabling a vision of totality, historical, cultural, social, political and economic of families and territories. In the methodological procedures this study will carry out exploratory research, with bibliographic and documental survey, in addition to field research. In the Documentary Research, the CENSO SUAS, the Monthly Service Report-RMA and the Municipal Social Assistance Plan of Barcarena will be prioritized. In the Field Research, structured interviews will be carried out with a pre-defined questionnaire, applied to 10 (ten) riverside families who use CRAS Arapari, managers and higher-level technicians who work in Basic Social Protection in addition to the Municipal Secretary of Social Assistance of the municipality of Barcarena. With the indicated procedures, we will seek to reflect on the professional performance in the PSB with riverside communities in the face of a reality of few specific public interventions to guarantee the rights of those communities that lack fundamental policies such as health and education in a municipality with a high product.
