Summary:This research project is titled “SOCIOENVIRONMENTAL COMPENSATION FUNDS IN BARCARENA (AMAZÔNIA PARAENSE): The capital domination or the strengthening of the civil society”, has the purpose of analyzing and comparing the socioenvironmental compensation funds directed to the Baixo Tocantins region, with higher approach to the municipality of Barcarena – Pará. In Order to reach the accomplishment of the research, it will be used the historical dialectical materialism method which will help in the sociohistorical comprehension and the basis for a reflexive analyses. The research in the preliminary way allowed situating the context of environmental crimes recurrent in the municipality of Barcarena, a brief comprehension about the context of creation of Barcarena and Abaetetuba Funds and Hydro Sustainability Fund (FSH). The researching methodology is qualitative and quantitative, seeking to analyse the social demands in its entirety, using as tools and data collecting technique: a) bibliographical research, through articles, dissertations, thesis about socioenvironmental compensation funds in Amazônia; b) documental survey through official source, referring to the process of creation of Barcarena socioenvironmental compensation funds; c) semi structured interview with the funds representatives, Dema Funds and Sustainability Barcarena Initiative and 04 communities leaders which participated in the actions realized by the funds.
